Church Covenant Written 1861 We the subscribing members of the Baptist church of Christ of Plantersville having received the covenant of God, made, by Him with His people, as we humbly trust, by which the law of life and love is written in our hearts, and knowing that it is the will of our Lord Jesus Christ that we should be united in Christian covenant to each other: therefore we sacredly agree that as members of the same body we will strive to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. We agree to watch over each other in love, to cherish all the graces of the Spirit of God and to resist as far as possible, all the evil influences of the world the flesh and the devil, to attend all the meetings of the church when not providentially prevented, to visit each other for mutual edification and Christian comfort, to give of our worldly goods to feed the hungry, clothe the needy and relieve the necessities of the poor, and for the support of a faithful ministry among us according to our abilities and necessities that may exist around us. And we further agree to be faithful to each other in the exercise of Christian discipline as the Scriptures direct. And as we are the light of the world we will strive to let our light shine so as to win souls to Christ and strive until death to Glorify God in our bodies and spirits which are His. And may the God of all grace make us perfect, working in us both to will and to do of his good pleasure. #Gal 5:22
